M.N.C's BIO

 Misery Needs Company BIO:

In the early 2000’s, in the Northern Acadiana country of Central Louisiana, a group of teens started a garage rock band. As time went on, Jonathan Gauthier became the last founding member of his band that was started with family and friends. Jonathan learned that he had to go with the then cultural norms to make a side living playing music. After working with several bands in the region, Jonathan started observing that the crowds started getting younger but the set-lists were not catering to them. Thus seeing a potential lucrative new cover tune market to help keep money flowing; Jonathan reformed his original band from his hometown of Hessmer Louisiana, hired new band members, and decided to strike out on his own. Reviving the name “Misery Needs Company,” Jonathan decided to change from an informal variety (classic rock & country) format, to a modern charts rocking format and started booking gigs. After updating his already established classics set list, he felt his band was now able to fully compete in all current venue markets.

It is here where things started to change for Misery Needs Company. Jon and his new band members shortly set out to find where the younger crowds were migrating to and then sought out the gigs in those areas. What they found was a renewed fellowship with the younger audiences that truly appreciated bands that were playing to their age group. It was at then that the group realized that they made the right decision for their current business model. But what they didn’t expect was that they would find places where the Elders AND The youth also frequented, And these audiences actually loved the classic era and current set-lists. Thus what came next was an idea to put together a “Rock Review” show, performing iconic hits from: Elvis Presley to Ozzy Osbourne, to Modern dance pop and alterative and harder dance music. And all songs that fit within that formerly unexplored mixture of modern energetic dance music helped make Misery Needs Company ready to perform to any mainstream gathering that wanted to experience the grand adventure of how a dance party is now done in the Grand Old South. The primary objective was that the songs had to be songs you can dance, to, or sit down and rock out in your chair. The audience response has been overwhelmingly positive regarding the switch to this innovative Rock Review Variety show format.

Concurrently, while booking gigs from Natchez MS, to Shreveport, and Marshall Texas, down to Alexandria Louisiana; the band decided to start working on their own rock album to which will be it’s own separate show tour. Thus the band, Misery Needs Company is keeping to its roots, and it’s mission to make “Rocking Out,” fun again. “The Rock Review” set-list has greatly increased the social media following in less than a year since the formal change has occurred.

And Misery Needs Company as a band, couldn’t be happier with the feedback from the audiences. The band members are also happy to meet new friends everywhere they go.

Misery Needs Company promotes each show well in advance on social media via paid ads to further promote the product of the band as well as the venues they book. And at showtime,

Misery Needs Company gives it all they have at every gig. The band looks forward to further expanding markets as they promote the music, and entertain their audience with dedicated streamlined show set for your venue today.
